MREA Renewable Energy Fair & Sustainable Living Fair

— June 2007

What a great weekend! This was the first year that the Wisconsin Windstar Connection had a booth at this event. With so many eco-friendly people and educational speakers, this weekend was truly a place to renew everyone’s commitment to a healthy and sustainable planet. Connection members handed out brochures, almost 500 packets of prairie seeds and talked to many people about the 2008 Wisconsin EARTHcamp. Thank you to Carolyn and Rick for their time at the booth and to Barb and Kathy for their help in obtaining seeds.

Work at Windstar 2007 —It was a collaborative event as Colorado Connection members and one member from the Wisconsin Connection spent a beautiful June day creating a walkway to the Spirit statue on the Windstar land in Old Snowmass, Colorado.

Aspen in October events—Windstar was well represented during all the Aspen in October events for this 10th anniversary year.  The Windstar Colorado Connection hosted two benefit concerts at Harris Concert Hall in Aspen. There was a campfire on the Windstar land and a celebration “Coming Home” out at Windstar. Below are photos from some of the events.

Making bird feeders at the Share Fair

On April 5, 2008 the WWC had a booth at the Dodge County Share Fair in Beaver Dam. We had a table set-up for kids to make pinecone bird feeders. We handed out brochures on the Connection and the Windstar Foundation. There were also flyers on the EARTHcamp programs and a list of things kids can do to help the environment. It was a fun day and there were over 80 kids who went home with a birdfeeder to hang in their backyard.
