Text Box: Resources like electricity need to be conserved.
When shopping look for recycled products. You can now buy recycled pencils, garbage bags, and even shoes. Look for packaging that uses recycled cardboard as well!
Take time away from TV and video games to visit local parks, zoos, conservation areas and animal rehabilitation centers.
Text Box: Tips for kids to follow to help protect the environment:
Never throw trash on the ground. Look for garbage cans or better yet, recycling cans. The wildlife will appreciate it.
Buy food items that have the least packaging. All that plastic and cardboard makes a lot of trash!
Always remember to turn off lights when you leave a room. Text Box: Choose an environmental issue that is MOST important to you and then learn all you can from books, TV, school and the internet. Then share what you learn with others.

I think it's so important that we always remember that nature, environment, wild places and wild things are a big part of what makes us who and what we are as human beings. To deny this is to deny our own heritage, our own spirit, and our own souls. We must learn to live in a sustainable fashion in a way that promotes the incredible diversity of life in this world rather than decreasing it mindlessly. We must not allow people to destroy those things which are so precious and cannot be replaced.
